Book Summary
Heidi is a loveable orphan girl, who lives with her Grandfather in the grand Swiss Alps.
Detie brings 5-year-old Heidi to live with her grandfather in the mountains. She adores the mountains and Grandfather. He lets her go with Peter and the goats up the mountain.
She makes friends with all the goats and learns their names. She also desperately wants to see Grandmother and asks her Grandfather until he says yes.
After two years, Detie comes back and says that she has found a “proper” home for Heidi in the city.
In the city, Heidi meets Clara, and a friendship blossoms. Heidi doesn’t very much like the city, but she makes the best of it.
Thanks to Cara’s Grandmother, she learns to read. But Heidi is terribly homesick and wants to go home so much that she starts sleepwalking.
Will Heidi ever see her mountain home again?
Josie’s Thoughts on this Book
This is an amazing book, and I give it 5/5 stars! I love it because I love stories about wildlife, adventurous girls, and when characters have to overcome difficulties.
I think you will love this book too, especially if you like reading about adventurous girls and nature.
